How Does Invisalign Work?
If you have crooked teeth, protruding front teeth, or gaps in your teeth, Invisalign can help. Invisalign straightens the teeth and improves your smile while being almost invisible. Keep reading to learn what Invisalign is and how it works.
First, you will visit your dentist and have impressions of your teeth taken. This is done by filling impression trays with impression material and placing it over your teeth. Once it is set, the tray is removed and your impressions, along with your dental records are sent to Invisalign.
The impressions are also used to create a digital model of your teeth and based on your dentist’s treatment plan, the software plans the movement of your teeth from their current position to the final desired position.
This software allows you to see how your teeth may look after treatment. Once approved by you and your dentist, a series of nearly invisible aligners will be custom-made for you to follow the stages of the treatment plan by Invisalign.
